Armitages Garden Centre and Mower World

In 1842, 26 years before the first lawnmower was invented, William Armitage opened his small but well stocked corn and seed merchants shop in the heart of Huddersfield. Over the years the business has expanded and moved to more extensive premises in the mid 1980's. Still family run, making it one of the oldest family run businesses in the area, Armitages Garden Centre now comprises two sites, this one and Armitages Pennine Garden Centre at Shelley.

The centres range of garden plants is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the region. Experts are always on hand to help you choose the right plant for the best results. All hardy outdoor plants are guaranteed for two years.

The centre also stocks a wide range of tubs, planters, troughs and pots from around the world as well as statues and water features to enhance the natural beauty of any garden.

As its name suggets this centre specialises in garden machinery. The centre has over 200 different machines to choose from and provides a complete garden machine service, from helping you to select the best machine to regular servicing and repair. Mower World has over 7000 machinery spare parts and a team of advisors who can supply you with all you need to keep your machine in tip top condition.

The garden furniture range is selected to offer the utmost comfort with durability, quality and value for money. This comprehensive centre also boasts a gift department and book shop. The coffee shop onsite serves sandwiches and hot and cold snacks every day.
