Frosts Garden Centre

Established in 1946, Frosts Garden Centre at Woburn Sands is a family business which began as a cut flower and tomato nursery. By 1962 it was one of the first garden centres in the UK. Voted Garden Centre of the year in 1997/98, the whole centre has an ambience of quality and style.

Set amongst landscaped grounds with extensive water features there is ample free parking in shaded areas. The Garden Room Restaurant serves home cooked meals and snacks, delicious salads and its own recipe Salmon Fishcakes. Frosts Garden Centres reputation is founded on the quality of the plants on sale and its knowledgeable long serving staff. The large garden plant area is well stocked with trees, shrubs, hardy garden plants, herbs and seasonal bedding. All trees and hardy garden plants are covered by Frosts two year guarantee. There is a good selection of containers, garden ornaments, landscape materials and specialist staff on hand to give tips and advice. Beside the garden centre shop is the magnificent Palm House which contains large specimen tropical plants, many of which are obtained to fulfil contracts for interior planting schemes all over the country. The garden centre shop itself includes a large flower shop with both local and Interflora delivery services. Displays of houseplants are a joy to behold with orchids, azaleas and bougianvilleas nestling alongside luscious green foliage plants. The Aquatic department specialises in coldwater and tropical fish, aquaria, pumps and self contained water features. All livestock is covered by a seven day guarantee.

The extensive gift department provides inspiration for all those seeking unusual presents for family and friends. Conservatory and garden furniture is very well displayed, care advice and guarantees are thoughtfully explained in helpful fact sheets and the garden centre can arrange delivery. Frosts at Woburn Sands won a Silver Medal at Chelsea Flower Show and there is no doubt that anyone visiting this centre will come away filled with ideas and enthusiasm. In common with its sister centres Willington Garden Centre near Bedford and Millets Farm Garden Centre near Abington, the emphasis is on quality and service.
