Grosvenor
Garden Centre
From humble beginnings in 1975, Grosvenor
garden centre has continued to improve and expand; recent
redevelopment is being completed by further planned development
to be completed by the year 2000. Covering 14 acres, this
attractive and well laid out garden centre is bursting with
ideas for home and garden.
The welcoming, expert staff are always on
hand to help you with choosing the right plant for every
garden. Lovely scents and colours meet visitors as they examine
the centre's range of top-quality outdoor plants, trees and
shrubs including conifers, fruit trees, alpines and heathers,
herbs, hedging and borders, bedding plants, bulbs and seeds and
a wide selection of indoor plants. All hardy plants in
containers come with a two-year guarantee.
The centre's range of ornaments, statues and
fountains, bamboo fencing and trellises is second to none. With
one of the largest collections of pots, containers, tubs,
troughs and wall baskets in terracotta, wood and stoneware, as
well as a variety of attractive hanging baskets, this complete
resource for the garden also offers aquatic plants, tropical
and freshwater fish. Major seasonal displays include
garden
furniture, bulbs and Christmas decorations. In addition
there are displays of camping equipment and trailer
tents.
The bookshop has something to interest all
the family, from a comprehensive selection of gardening books
to books for children, while the floristry department boasts a
huge variety of silk, dried and fresh flowers. Other amenities
include the candle shop, gift shop and the orangey cafe which
serves cakes, hot and cold snacks and light meals. The centre
hosts four open evenings annually with guest gardeners meeting
the public and speaking on a range of subjects. The centre also
organises coach parties to famous gardens throughout the uk and
the rest of Europe.
