Garden Centre
Polhill garden centre is a welcoming
family-run garden centre which was established 30 years ago by
Jim Novell, who used to grow tomatoes to be sold in Covent
garden. Latterly his son David and David's wife Allison,
together with managing director Colin Cross, have helped to
increase and improve the centre's prestige and popularity, by
ensuring that is provides a complete shopping experience. With
the motto 'The centre that grows on you', this comprehensive
centre enjoys a very relaxed atmosphere.
Many shoppers come for the day and find it
stimulating from the moment they drive in past the windmill at
the entrance and as they browse throughout the distinct areas
and associated franchise outlets. The garden furniture
department is extensive. With a full range of cane, resin,
teak, cast aluminium and others your furniture needs in the
garden will be taken care of.
A unique feature of this centre is the scale
models of Easter island carvings. imaginative and exciting,
they reflect Allison Novell's passion for the place, Which is
revealed in every corner of this fascinating centre. There is
something for every garden and all tastes and pockets here -
the railway sleepers in the fencing department are an example
of the contemporary range of both traditional and more
innovative products on offer.
The garden
furniture department is extensive, with a full range of
cane, resin, wood and metal leisure furniture. There are
also many onsite franchises here, including furniture
outlets, a landscaping service, bakery, butcher's shop,
sporting goods shop, children's clothing shop, rowlawn turf
growers, tile outlet and specialist giftwear shop. The
spacious and very comfortable restaurant serves morning
coffee, lunches, daily specials, roasts and afternoon
tea.
