The
Millbrook Garden Company
With an established garden centre business
in crowborough dating back some 20 years, Millbrook garden
centre was opened by the same owners here in southfleet in
1993. The original site was a rotting cabbage field, Completely
transformed for the centre's premises.
Easy to get to, the site is also historic:
it is an important archaeological site and home to an ancient
roman settlement. Books dating this fascinating history can be
purchased at the centre. The huge covered and outside areas are
filled with shrubs, seedlings, roses, small trees, herbaceous
plants, herbs, bedding and ericaceous (peat-loving plants). In
addition, the centre's houseplants help desk can help you
choose from the extensive range available.
Garden equipment, tools and items for sale
include pots, ceramics and statuary wooden tubs, sundials, wind
chimes, garden
furniture and fencing. The centre's landscaping team can
help you design and plan the perfect outdoor room. The
centre specialises in water features and aquatics with a
separate area devoted to a good range of 'swallow' brand
aquatics, rock-effect cascades and helpful leaflets on how
to set up an indoor aquarium with full advice on filtration
systems, plants and fish, fish food and other supplies.
There are many other features of this
comprehensive garden centre, including a wild bird cage centre,
stock of 'stormafit' outdoor clothing and accessories, giftware
department and book shop. Closer to the Thames estuary, this
link with the sea is highlighted in the onsite liners
restaurant (open weekdays 9.30-4.30 sun 10.30-4, hot food from
noon each day). Its rails, decking and nautical flavour are
superbly evocative - when the weather permits, guests can sit
outdoors on the promenade deck and admire the view.
