Garden Centre
Trelawney garden centre is styled and themed
to a traditional railway station reflecting the days when part
of the London and south western railway ran through the site
from 1800's to the 1960's. Nestled in the beautiful camel
valley the centres planteria and garden area is set by a
picturesque lily laden lake, ideal for a leisurely stroll, and
is filled with quality locally grown plants, shrubs and
trees.
The raised beds always hols a fantastic
display of seasonal colour and creative planting ideas. An
enormous water wheel dominates the garden as visitors cross the
rustic bridge to the children's play area, an imaginative and
extensive playground with safe and sturdy equipment, including
a likeness of a steam locomotive alongside a miniature station
and platform with sides, climbing frames and working
signals.
The onsite carriages restaurant and coffee
shop provides delicious early bird breakfasts, freshly baked
cakes, morning coffee, full daily carvery, children's menu,
snack and Cornish cream tea's, all home-cooked. From February
to December it hosts regular special themed evening
menus-booking a must.
Trelawney offers three shopping platforms of
top quality products for the garden and home and boasts a good
range of garden care products, watering equipment, lawn
preparations, seeds, tools and accessories, as well as an
outstanding selection of spring and summer bulbs. The superb
selection of house plants are imported directly from
Holland.
The gift area is a treasure trove of books,
ceramics, china, ornaments, locally produced goods, jam,
preserves, sweets and chocolates, and an excellent variety of
fresh, dried and silk flowers which can be transformed into
stunning floral displays by their expert florists.
At Christmas time platform 3 transforms from
a paradise of top quality garden
furniture and barbecues to a winter wonderland of
stunning festive displays of decorations, lights and
Christmas trees.
